In 1950, the location where Jachthaven Jutrijp was to be developed looked like this - quite different from its modern day appearance.
The old house was demolished to make place for a more modern and larger building. The new building includes company premises as well as more spacious accommodation for the owners). The water behind the house is now allocated for berths for customer yachts.

Looking out of the window, on a Sunday afternoon in the early spring 1967, a woman named Yke Schotanus, said to her husband: "You know, you could easily create a place for a boat here, don't you think……….?" These words prompted Eeltje van der Schaaf to create "a place for a boat" back in 1968.

Together Eeltje and Yke expanded the "place for a boat" on a gradual basis until it became a complete marina, including good facilities and a 'unique' atmosphere.
In 1998 they retired and their daughter Nynke and her husband Meindert continued the business.

The first significant milestone (1968) - first boat arrives.
During the 1970's some berths were built and the business rapidly expanded with the letting of boats.
Ca. 1980 - the creation of an island with new berths. This island can be accessed via an electric bridge, which customers can easily operate themselves.
