Looking out of the
window, on a Sunday afternoon in the early spring 1967, a woman named
Yke Schotanus, said to her husband: "You know, you could easily create
a place for a boat here, don't you think
.?" These
words prompted Eeltje van der Schaaf to create "a place for a boat"
back in 1968.
Together Eeltje and
Yke expanded the "place for a boat" on a gradual basis until
it became a complete marina, including good facilities and a 'unique'
atmosphere.
In 1998 they retired and their daughter Nynke and her husband Meindert
continued the business.
